Pink for Power – International Women’s Day

We invite all our employees at HCI to show their enthusiasm and support by actively participating in our International Women’s Day celebration 2020!

International Women’s Day – Epitomizing femininity with a purpose!

Women’s Day is just around the corner and we are here to celebrate the powerful women personalities of today. A single progressive woman inspires and rejuvenates the entire society and what better occasion to celebrate her achievements than International Women’s Day itself?

So, what is International Women’s day and Why do we commemorate it?

It falls on the 8th of March this year and it is a universal day celebrating the socioeconomic, cultural and political achievements of women. It is designated as the United Nations Day for Women’s Rights and International Peace. International Women’s Day – is all about unity, reflection, celebration, advocacy and action – whatever that looks like globally at a local level. But one thing is for certain, International Women’s Day has been commemorated for well over a century – and surges on to grow from strength to strength. This day especially marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.

An occasion to celebrate!

We at HCI couldn’t be more excited to be a platform for these bright and powerful women who have a vision and the drive to inspire everyone with their own example! So, we plan on organising the “Pink for Power” Day on the 06th of March 2020, this Friday!!!

Why did we choose pink?

For so long, the colour pink has always been associated with femininity, delicateness, and superficiality. But today, the colour is far from this stereotype and not just a symbol of being girly. Pink is now a symbol of feminine power with the colour associated with female-centred advocacies such as championing breast cancer survivors and fighters against gender-biases. Pink is a colour of support, unity, and survival. HCI intends to break gender norms by dissociating from stereotyping with regards to colour.

What can we do to participate and show our support?

This International Women’s Day, HCI aims to spread awareness about women empowerment, women’s rights, and gender equality in its own unique way.

We invite all our employees at HCI to show their enthusiasm and support by participating actively in our campaign themed as “Pink for Power” Day on the 06th of March 2020.

All employees at HCI are invited to adorn themselves in pink apparel on this special day. We encourage you to use your creativity and wear any piece of clothing that is pink in colour (it specifically need not be shirts or pants alone but accessories like a handkerchief or some funky pink socks even would be much appreciated).
So, it’s time to fling those wardrobe doors open and don your very best pink look!”
