Bijo is the founder, Managing Director and CEO of Institute of Health & Management Pty Ltd (IHM). His demonstrated passion towards education, entrepreneurship and technology has shaped the vision of the company. Bijo has a Master’s in Business Administration and has a qualification in Mechanical Engineering. Bijo has worked extensively world-wide and is well respected as a prominent community figure in Australia, Malaysia & India. Bijo’s extensive project management and business management experience is the driving force behind all programs and activities of IHM and Health Careers group and has led the organisation to successfully start a number of international businesses. As the CEO and Managing Director of Institute of Health & Management Pty. Ltd., Bijo oversees and manages the operational activities, systems and policy implementation of the organisation. He is also a member of GAICD (Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors) and is currently pursuing his PhD in Corporate Governance in Educational Sector, from Swinburne University.
Simon Schweigert – Chief Operations Officer
Simon works as the Chief Operations Officer with primary focus on business growth and effective implementation of IHM’s Operational and Strategic initiatives. Simon has more than 15 years’ of experience in senior management roles and has managed businesses in Australia, China, Philippines and numerous other Asian countries. Simon is also a Business and Communications Strategist and Consultant who has previous experience in working with some of Australia’s leading healthcare providers and industry representative organizations. Simon has been working with Health Careers for the past few years as a Business Consultant and comes with more than 25 years’ experience as a communications, strategy and business consultant in education, health care and technology sectors.
Pankaj Patel – CFO
Pankaj has more than 20 years of experience in the field of accounting and finance which range from financial reporting, taxation to auditing and brings in established skills in corporate finance, financial analysis, taxation, accounting and auditing. Pankaj holds Bachelor of Commerce degree and he is also a member of Certified Public Accountant (AUS) along with Chartered Accountant (India). Pankaj is working with HCI Group for the past eight years’ and is responsible for managing financial aspects of the entire group.
Dr Lina Shahwan-Akl – Director of Studies
Dr Shahwan-Akl is the Director of Studies for Institute of Health & Management Pty Ltd. Dr Shahwan-Akl has held a number of key positions in research and academic education in Nursing. Such positions have included Associate Professor & Director, Post Graduate Studies and Head of Department at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University (RMIT), Melbourne. Dr Shahwan-Akl has also been honoured with several awards for her valuable contributions towards research and development in the fields of healthcare and nursing education nationally and internationally. This includes B-HERT Award (2009) for Outstanding Achievement in Collaboration in Research & Development, Higher Education and Training, Vocational Education and Training and Community Engagement; Inaugural Research Award (2002) by the Faculty of Human Movement, Victoria University, Melbourne, Australia; Australian Post Graduate Research Award (1994) from Commonwealth Government and Nurse of the Year Award (1982) from International Council of Nurses, New York, USA.
Ivan Stevenson – Principal Education Officer
Ivan is a highly accomplished leader with over 24 years’ experience of implementing, delivering and monitoring Quality and Compliance systems for private clients, high risk industries, communities and government bodies. Ivan is a subject matter expert on RTO/Higher Education compliance, internal auditing, policy development, curriculum design, training and maintaining up to date programs enhanced by research and technological advances. Ivan has unrivalled industry knowledge and experience with wide ranging ability and proven track record of success within compliance, training and quality assurance systems. Ivan has consistently demonstrated success as a detail-oriented professional who leads by example facilitating future proofed training programs and has completed a Master of Education (Educational Leadership) from Charles Sturt University and a Post Graduate Diploma of Vocational Education and Training, Graduate Certificate In Teaching English for Speakers of other Language -TESOL and a Bachelor of Adult and Vocational Education form Griffith University. In addition to this, Ivan also has Vocational Education Qualifications and is a Certified Quality Lead Auditor. He also possesses professional membership with Australian Computer Society, Member of VELG Training, Member of Australian Institute of Training and Development and a member of WA Teachers Association.
